April 13, 2020 - At 14, Sarasota's Tiffany Yu was asked if she would be nervous as one of the amateur models during the Spring Sensations Fashion Show March 6 at the Hyatt Regency in Sarasota.
"Mostly, I'm excited," said Yu, whose mom Kathy Yu is a member of Lakewood Ranch's Sisterhood for Good, which puts on the event to raise money for various charities.
But Tiffany, don't you know more than 300 sets of eyes will be locked on you during your first attempt as a fashion model? Are you going to know what to do under the lights?

October 22, 2019 - Bambi Forristall, the board chair for Meals on Wheels PLUS, was supporting the Designer Bag Bingo fundraiser Oct. 21 at Gold Coast Eagle Distributing in Lakewood Ranch when she was asked if she would spend $500 on a handbag.
"No," Forristall replied with a laugh. "Now ask me about shoes."
The Sisterhood For Good giving circle of Lakewood Ranch held the fundraising effort, allowing almost 200 women to have a shot at nine designer handbags that were the prizes during a night of Bingo. Comedian Beneva Fruitville (Berry Ayers) was the host.

October 16, 2019 - Designer Bag Bingo turns out to be a clutch hit for East County nonprofits. Just ask Angela Massaro-Fain, who put together the Designer Bag Bingo fundraiser for Oct. 21 at Gold Coast Eagle Distributing in Lakewood Ranch. It will raise money for Lakewood Ranch's Sisterhood For Good giving circle, which will redistribute the money to local nonprofits. The event sold out weeks in advance with almost 200 people paying for the chance to win one of nine designer purses by capturing a game of Bingo.

June 27, 2019 - Obtaining nonprofit status has allowed Sisterhood For Good to control its philanthropic destiny. Last summer, after the Sisterhood For Good distribited $9,552 to six organizations, Grants Committee Charwoman Terri Stern set a lofty goal - to double the donations in one year's time. On June 18, that goal was realized as Sisterhood For Good gave out $20,000 to 11 area charities.

June 22, 2019 - Members of the Sisterhood For Good nonprofit grew closer together during their Meet Your Sisters event June 20 at Oak & Stone. The volunteer organization has seen aggressive expansion as of late - there are now 110 members - and founding member Angela Massaro-Fain thought of no better way to bring members together than a lively meet-and-greet event.

April 2019 - Sisterhood For Good's inaugural Spring Sensations fashion show was a sold-out event held at GROVE in Lakewood Ranch. More than 250 women and men attended to help raise just over $20K to be distributed to local non-profit organizations in June 2019.

April 2019 - Sisterhood For Good, the Lakewood Ranch nonprofit that was up to 105 members after three more ladies joined during the show, hosted the event as another way to raise funds that are injected back into the community. Fashion sponsors included Worth New York, Debbie Dannheisser Threads, Sunglass Express Optical, Vanessa Fine Jewelry, Barb McSweeney Jewelry, Mary Kay Cosmetics, and BSwanky Handbags.

October 2018 - It was the kickoff for its PhilanthroPizza fundraiser with the California Pizza Kitchen, but that didn’t stop the members of Sisterhood For Good from adding to its team.
Sisterhood For Good, which represents the Lakewood Ranch Community Fund, had a goal of raising funds it can give as grants to area nonprofits. California Pizza Kitchen donate 20% of its sales to the cause from that day’s sales — on Oct. 4 — through Nov. 30 when people mention Sisterhood For Good.

June 2018 - Two weeks after moving to Lakewood Ranch from Pennsylvania in September, Theodora Stern was getting a manicure when she began chatting with fellow Lakewood Ranch resident Angela Massaro-Fain.
The pair hit it off and a few days later had breakfast together with their husbands. The next thing Stern knew, she was becoming a member of the Sisterhood For Good, a women's-only Giving Circle within the Lakewood Ranch Community Fund.

December 2017 - Tears flowed at a ceremony in June, when a group of women business owners and senior executives gathered to disburse checks to nonprofits.
The women-powered organization, Lakewood Ranch-based Sisterhood For Good, is in its fourth year of giving out money to a bevy of groups, and its sixth year overall. Several of the group’s chosen charities bring out raw emotions.

March 2017 - Established in May 2011 by founding donor and administrator Angela Massaro-Fain, Sisterhood For Good is a fun, active giving circle that unites women who share common philanthropic goals. The group distributes grants annually to a number of local causes, including women's and children's issues, animal welfare, arts and education, health and safety, and hunger and homelessness.

February 2016 - Members of the Lakewood Ranch Community Fund's six women's giving circles celebrated their charitable spirit during the seventh an-nual "Be My Galentine" event Feb. 8 at The Lake Club's Grande Clubhouse, Stillpoint House of Prayer celebrated as well. The Women's Charitable Fund, one of the six giving circles, presented a check for $4,000 to Stillpoint, which buys food to feed those in the commu-nity who are hungry.

October 2016 - With this year's annual grant ceremony behind them, Sisterhood For Good, a donor-advised fund of the Lakewood Ranch Community Fund, hosted its first public "FUNdraiser" on September 1st at McCurdy's Comedy Theater. Their goal? To have a laugh and help a cause.
And that they did - With more that 150 supporters in attendance, comedian Carmen Ciricillo had the crowd roaring with laughter, all in hopes that Sisterhood For Good's 2017 grant ceremony will recognize even more recipients to build upon those awarded this past July.

October 2016 - Sisterhood For Good, a donor-advised fund of the Lakewood Ranch Community Fund, held its fourth annual grant distribution event in July. With another record number of grant applicants this year, the giving circle awarded more that $3000 to local non-profits.
Each year the women of the giving circle gather to raise funds, discuss the varying needs of our community and vote on grant distribution based on the applications received. The organizations chosen by Sisterhood For Good to be this year's recipients are:
- Sarasota Manatee Association for Riding Therapy, Inc (SMART)
- Mark Wandall Foundation
- Children's Healthy Pantry
- Meals on Wheels Plus of Manatee/Food Bank of Manatee
- Child Protection Center, Inc.
